By Joshua Walters

The 2018/19 Spanish La Liga is on, and PredictionBoard.com is introducing five of the teenage players who are likely to steal the show in the campaign.

1.    Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid)

Vinicius Junior is an 18-year old Brazilian forward. He graduated from the Flamengo academy and played for the first team before Real Madrid brought him to the Santiago Bernabeu for €46 million this summer. The fee made him the most expensive teenager in the history of the South American country. Vinicius has speed and plays with both feet. He can function at both wings and in most of the offensive area, especially as leading striker. Vinicius made his debut for the ‘White Angels’ in their 2-0 loss to Manchester United in the pre-season tour of the USA.

2.   Ferran Torres (Valencia)

The 18-year old native of Valencia joined the Academy of the local club in 2006 at age six.  Torres was promoted to the B-side ahead of the 2017–18 campaign and scored his first senior goal on 26 August 2017. He was still in the academy when he made his senior debut at the Mestalla Stadium. Torres plays as a winger and was part of the Spanish U-17 team that reached the semi-finals of the 2017 Under-17 World Cup in India.

3.    Jonathan Montiel (Rayo Vallecano)

Jonathan Montiel is strong and can perform at all the defensive and offensive spots in the midfield. He has great dribbling qualities and is also a good passer of the ball. The 19-year old player joined the Vallecano youth set-up in 2010 at age 11, and made his senior debut on October 25 2015. Montiel was spotted by Rayo Vallecano in 2010 when he was 11 years.

4.    Cucho Hernández (S.D Huesca)

Cucho Hernández is a 19-year old Colombian forward who plays for La Liga new entrants, S.D. Huesca on loan from English club, Watford. Cucho joined Huesca in the lower tier league and scored 16 goals in 31 games during the 2017–18 campaign, as his side achieved promotion to La Liga for the first time ever. Cucho’s loan term was extended for a further year in June 2018. Cucho has pace, is strong, has eyes for goals, and could be a handful for defenders on a good day.

5. Facundo Garcia (Leganes)

Facundo Garcia is an 18-year old Argentine teenager who plays as a midfielder for Leganes. Facundo started his career at Club Olympo in Argentina and joined Leganes on a 5-year deal in July 2018. Garcia is strong and has good tackling and attacking qualities, and that makes him a tough customer for most of his opponent.
