Becker won

Liverpool goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, accepts he could make mistakes dribbling, but says that will not deter him from using his foot when need be.

Liverpool beat Brighton 1-0 with the newly-acquired Brazilian shots-stopper pulling off a sweet diving save to deny Pascal Gross from securing a late equaliser.

But, making the headlines was Becker receiving a back pass from an under-pressure, Van Dijk, and chipping the ball over an on-rushing, Anthony Knockaert, before finding a teammate with a pass.

Though Becker’s first touch drew applauds from the spectators, his next two touches did otherwise with Glenn Murray twice forcing him into errors that could have resulted in goals.

“I try my best to help the team in the build-up”, said the goalkeeper who joined Liverpool to replace another whose mistakes led to The Reds losing the 2018 Champions League final by 3-1 to Real Madrid.

“If sometimes there is a situation where there is dribbling, I do it carefully. It could be too risky, but it is a part of the game, we are a team that plays from the back with the ball on the ground.”

Becker has not conceded in three league games and says the feat is attributed to teamwork than individual prowess.

"I will keep helping the team. It is teamwork. I have my contribution, but I am not the main responsibility for the clean sheets. If we do not concede, we will be close to winning because our attack is really good. I’m very comfortable at the club in a great environment, with everybody pushing in the same direction to win.”
