Ex-Barca Star Bojan Krkic Joins Vissel Kobe In Japan
Former Barcelona forward Bojan Krkic has joined Japanese side Vissel Kobe.
Bojan was a free agent after leaving Major League Soccer side Montreal at the end of last year.
The 30-year-old, who has been capped once by the Spanish national team, was moulded in Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, and he broke into the Spanish giants’ first team in 2007, winning three La Liga titles and two UEFA Champions League trophies.
He will be reunited with his former Barcelona teammate Andres Iniesta, who is still playing with Vissel Kobe at the age of 37.
Bojan expressed his delight after being unveiled by the Japanese club on Monday, telling their official website: "I can't wait for this wonderful challenge. This opportunity is one of the best, both personally and professionally, and I can't wait for this big challenge.
"I have been attracted to Japanese culture for a long time and, thanks to Vissel Kobe, I can experience Japan for myself."
"Iniesta is special to me and I am happy to be able to play with him again," Bojan added. "I want to score a lot of goals from his assistance."
Bojan also spent five years in England with Stoke City, where he made 86 appearances and scored 16 goals.
He has also spent time on loan at AC Milan, Mainz 05, Ajax Amsterdam and Alaves in the past.
