Vidic Harbors United Managerial Ambition
By Max Wise
Former Manchester United Captain, Nemanja Vidic, is harboring the idea of managing the Red Devils one day.
The 37-year old spent eight successful seasons at Old Trafford between 2006 and 2014, winning five Premier League titles, one Champions League and three League Cups.
Manchester United currently lie eighth on the Premier League table, and their manager, Jose Mourinho, has come under heavy criticism from former players like Paul Scholes both for his style of play and results.
Vidic, however, has refused to criticise Mourinho as he believes United knew what they were getting when they appointed the Portuguese trainer two seasons ago.
"To be honest, in the future I would like to be the manager," the Serbian told beIN Sports . "I would like to think that I know things. For me to criticise Jose Mourinho, as someone who may be in the future can become the manager, is not fair."
"It's not the Manchester we are used to watching," he continued. "It's Mourinho's Manchester and, when he came to Manchester, you have to accept that he is the manager who is going to play this kind of football."
United were beaten by their eternal crosstown rivals Manchester City on Sunday, and are now seven points adrift the Champions League places and twelve points behind leaders Manchester City.
