Real Madrid Decide On Solari Today

Real Madrid will be making their final decision on their caretaker manager, Santiago Solari, today.

The European Champions put the Team-B coach in an interim position at the first team after the sacking of Julen Lopetegui, following the Spaniard's poor start to the season.

The Spanish rule does not allow an interim coach to be on the touchline for more than two weeks, meaning that Madrid must either confirm the Argentine as the substantive manager or sack him.

Solari has won all his four games and a director of the club, Emilio Butragueno, hinted after Los Blancos' 4-2 win over Celta Vigo on Sunday that the hierarchy was happy with the manager.

“The truth is that we are very happy with him,” Emilio Butragueno told Movistar.

“There is no doubt that he came at a very particular moment and has been able to achieve very good results.

“It was a very complicated game and we also had setbacks with injuries, (but) we had personality and character.

“We have very good players and the team is getting better and better, we took advantage of our chances and we are very happy, we must continue in this way.”
