Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes his Manchester United side can pull off a shock and eliminate Paris Saint Germain when the two sides clash at the Parc des Princes in the second leg of the round of 16 game on Wednesday.

Manchester United lost the reverse fixture 2-0 at home to the French champions and face a mammoth task of turning the result around.

The 20-time English Champions’ woes are compounded by the fact that key midfielder, Paul Pogba, will be missing in action after he picked up a red card at Old Trafford last time out while injuries to key players like Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard and Ander Herrera could all miss out.

Solskjaer is however optimistic that his side will not go down without a fight.

But Solskjaer said: “No! We are not going to go out without giving a fight.

“We will go out there and try to enjoy the game.

“We know it is a difficult place to go and we also know they played really well at Old Trafford.

“So that is a great challenge for our players — to go there and show what we can do.

“I still think we're in it, we can't write games off.

“We have been fantastic away from home, but of course we have a few injuries and suspensions so don't start in a fantastic position.

“But we have to give it a go, to almost make it a game with loads of goals in it. We would rather win 4-2 than try to get a 2-0.

“We have to think, 'Get to half time,' or be better than we are now by scoring and being 1-0 up — then anything can happen in the second half.

“I know we can go there and score a goal and make it chaotic for the last 15-20 minutes."
