Bayern Munich Sign Benjamin Pavard

Bayern Munich have announced the signing of French right full back Benjamin Pavard as the January transfer window nears its closure.
Pavard has been on the wish list of the Bundesliga defending champions following the right-back's impressive performance in Les Blues' march to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Sporting Director of the Bavarian club, Salihamidzic, announced the club has secured the player but explained he will remain with his current club Stuttgart until the end of this season.
Salihamidzic failed to disclose the fee involved in the deal despite confirming that they have tied the player to a five-year deal.
"I can confirm that we have signed Benjamin Pavard as of January 1, 2019," Salihamidzic said. "He has signed a five-year contract."
The French World Cup winner is currently under contract with Stuttgart in a deal that will expire in 2021 with a buyout clause of €35 million.
Pavard has played 14 league matches for Stuttgart this season and two appearances in the German DFB cup for the club.
The 22-year-old defender joined Stuttgart from French outfit Lille in 2016 where he featured in all the 34 games played by the Swabians last season.
