Oblak Desires Premier League Move

By Joshua Walters

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak has revealed his attraction for the Premier League and said he will play in the England top flight league sooner or later.

Oblak, who nonetheless disclosed his desire to remain with Atletico Madrid, also insisted that everything was possible and that he could change clubs someday.

Jan Oblak has been in good form for Atletico Madrid so far this season, having helped the Spanish giants to the second position on the LaLiga table with 35 points, five points behind leaders, Barcelona.

The Slovenian shot-stopper nearly left Atletico Madrid a few years ago but changed his mind having been convinced of the targets set out by the club.

Rumors are already flying around that Oblak is having transfer negotiations with some clubs in England, but the goalkeeper has denied them, though not ruling out such a move.

“The Premier League is interesting. It’s attractive and at some stage, I may want to be part of that competition.”

"I can see myself there, but I don’t know when – maybe next year, in two years, five or 10.”

“I didn’t speak with any clubs – my agent and the people at Atletico do those things.

“I decided to stay as I saw a good project here, and I believe the best way I can win titles is by staying.’

“But in the future, everything is possible. “

“In football, things change from one day to another so it’s impossible to say you’re going to be somewhere for many years because you don’t know. January is here, June is there. Things can change so fast.”

Oblak joined Atletico Madrid from Benfica for a fee of €16 million, a fee that made him the most expensive goalkeeper in the LaLiga at that time.

The goalkeeper has played 18 matches for the Madrid outfit in the LaLiga and six games in the Champions League.
