Aubameyang Scores Winner As Arsenal Maintain Unbeaten Run At Bournemouth

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the winner as Arsenal beat Bournemouth 2-1 to increase their 2018/19 Premier League unbeaten run to eleven games.

The Gunners went ahead in the 30th minute through Jefferson Lerma's own goal but Joshua King canceled the lead a minute into stoppage time, before Aubameyang struck the winner in the 67th minute on an afternoon that saw referee Craig Pawson disallow what appeared a good goal from David Brooks for an offside.

Arsenal, whose last defeat came against Chelsea on match day-two, are now 5th on the league log with 27 points, a point less than the Blues while Bournemouth are 8th with 21 points.

David Brooks looked onside when he fed on Jefferson Lerma’s pass to hit home beyond the diving Leno in the 8th minute, but Referee Craig Pawson disallowed the goal for offside, a minute before Lucas Torreira hit the upright with a thunder strike from outside the penalty box.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang responded for Arsenal by picking up a rebound inside the box in the 23rd minute to cut inside his marker before rifling a shot high over the bar.

Sead Kolasinac missed a promising opportunity for the visitors a minute later when he unleashed a poor header well wide of the right post from near the penalty spot.

Ryan Fraser called Leno to work in the 29th minute with a beautifully taken free-kick towards the top corner of the far post which the German goalkeeper dived to palm out to safety.

Arsenal attacked from the left wing on the half-hour mark, and a pass from Alex Iwobi was extended to Sead Kolasinac, who sent an inswinger into the penalty box. Jefferson Lerma, in his haste to clear his lines, rather directed the ball into his own net to put the Gunners in front.

Bournemouth responded a minute into stoppage time with Joshua King latching onto David Brooks's pass to curl into the top left corner from inside the box.

The second half lacked goalmouth action, although the intensity of the game increased with Arsenal controlling possession a bit more, and Bournemouth also looking dangerous on the counter.

Sead Kolasinac produced another great pass, in the 67th minute, that found Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, inside the penalty area, and the Gabonese striker scored full marks as he connected the ball home with a sliding kick.

Jefferson Lerma latched onto a loose ball, in the 85th minute, and tried his luck with a measured shot which hit the left post, nine minutes before Junior Stanislas failed to convert a mid-range free kick by sending the ball wide over the bar.
