Alba Shocked Over Barca Contract Renewal Delays

Jordi Alba is surprised Barcelona are dragging their feet in offering him a new contract.

Alba has expressed the desire to finish his career at the Camp Nou but the Catalan outfit is yet to offer fresh terms on a deal that expires in the summer of 2020.

The former Valencia defender has played in all thirteen La Liga games this season, providing three assists and scoring one goal.

Speaking after Barcelona's 1-1 draw at Atletico Madrid on Saturday, Alba was left bemused by the Blaugrana's indifference towards his contract situation.

"I have no news," Alba said when asked about the latest on his contract.

"I don't know what the club thinks of me and it's strange because there's not much more of my contract left."

"My intentions are to finish my career here, but we'll see as I don't know what their intentions are or when they think it will be convenient to call me."
