Alli To Sign A Long-Term Deal
By Joshua Walters
Dele Alli is close to signing a new long-term contract at Tottenham Hotspurs.
Dele Alli’s current contract expires in 2022, but the 22-year-old sees his future at the new White Hart Lane which is close to completion.
The England striker joined Tottenham from MK Dons in 2015 on a five-and-a-half-year deal for an initial fee of £5 million, and has played 152 games scoring 48 goals.
Alli’s contract extension will follow manager Mauricio Pochettino and the captain Harry Kane, who extended their stays at the club months ago.
"It's good news, but we need to be careful, we are happy that he started (to train) today with the group. We hope he will be available for Monday, but we are not sure if he'll be in the squad."
Tottenham sit fifth on the pecking order with 21 points from nine games.
Deli Alli has not been in action for Tottenham since their league cup win over Watford in September due to a hamstring injury.
He could be part of the team when it faces Manchester City on Monday night with his manager expressing delight for his potential comeback.
