Saka Apologises To Tsimikas For Role In Collarbone Injury

Tsimikas suffered a broken collarbone on Saturday after a coming together with Saka sent the Greek defender clattering into Jurgen Klopp in Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Arsenal.

Tsimikas is set for a considerable spell on the sidelines as a result of the collision after he was taken straight to the hospital.

Liverpool have now run out of natural left backs, with Andy Robertson already out since October with a shoulder injury.

“I heard he has gone to hospital so obviously I want to apologise to him. I didn’t mean it of course,” Saka said on Sky Sports.

“For me it was a 50/50 and I have gone shoulder to shoulder with him. I didn’t see it but he must have taken a bad fall, I didn’t see him go into Jurgen Klopp either. I was focused on running forward because I didn’t think it was a foul. That’s my take on it.”

With a point gained at Anfield, Arsenal will spend Christmas top of the Premier League table for the second year running.
