Man City Complete Signing Of Argentina U-17 World Cup Star Echeverri
Manchester City have completed the signing of Argentina's FIFA U-17 World Cup star Claudio Echeverri from River Plate.
Echeverri has signed a contract until the summer of 2028 but will remain with River Plate for the rest of the year before moving to England in January 2025.
The 18-year-old captained and starred for Argentina at the U-17 World Cup in Peru last year, scoring five goals, including a hat-trick against Brazil in the quarterfinals.
"Everyone at Manchester City is looking forward to welcoming Claudio to the Club and we wish him the best of luck in his remaining time with River," a statement from the Premier League champions concluded.
Echeverri's deal will cost Manchester City £12.5m.
