Martial Set To Make Record At United.
By Joshua Walters
Anthony Martial will make history on Saturday should he score against Crystal Palace in the Premier League match day-thirteen fixture at Old Trafford.
The forward has already scored in all previous five games, and a goal against the Glaziers will make him the fourth Manchester United player to score in six consecutive games.
Ruud Van Nistelrooy currently leads the record with goals in ten consecutive games, followed by Eric Cantona and Cristiano Ronaldo, who all scored in six consecutive games for the Old Trafford club.
Martial had a slow start to the 2018/19 campaign but has improved to become one of the Red Devils’ most influential players, scoring a goal against Newcastle United, two against Chelsea, and one each against Everton, Bournemouth and Manchester City.
