Bartomeu Open To Guardiola Return

Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu has disclosed that the Spanish giants will always welcome former manager Pep Guardiola back to the club.

Guardiola spent 11 years as a player for the Catalan club before taking charge as the youth coach where he graduated to manage the first team.

The former Bayern Munich manager garnered more fame as a manager rather than a player as a result of winning 14 trophies with Barcelona in a four-year career.

After introducing a total possession football at the club, a philosophy named as ‘Tikitaka’, his team will always remain one of the best in the history of football.

The Spanish trainer after a successful spell at the club took the decision to join Bayern Munich for a new challenge where he saw many domestic victories as he also introduced his philosophy into the team, which changed the style of play of the German side and has always remained their approach to games.

Pep is currently enjoying his time with Manchester City as he is leading them to defend a Premier League trophy they won last season, but Barcelona president Bartomeu has revealed the door is always left ajar for him should he want a return to the club.

"He took the decision to leave and, of course, when Barca are looking for a new coach I am sure he will be one of the next board's candidates,"

"I think Pep said recently that he didn't see himself as the first team coach again, but maybe with the academy. He's very clear on the club's philosophy and style of play and to be able to bring him back home would be great for the club and for the players."
