Eriksen Back In Man Utd Squad For Everton Clash After Two Months Out
Manchester United will welcome back Christian Eriksen for Saturday's Premier League clash against Everton after almost three months out with an ankle injury.
Eriksen has not featured for the Red Devils since receiving a crunching challenge from Andy Caroll in an FA Cup tie against Reading back in January.
The Dane was expected to remain sidelined until May but has made a quicker-than-expected recovery to put himself in contention for the season run-in.
Asked for a squad fitness update ahead of the game against the Toffees, Ten Hag said: "Luke Shaw is not available for [Everton], and we have to see how it progresses in the coming week.
"The good news is Christian Eriksen is back in training and he will be back tomorrow in the squad."
"I think it was not for nothing," he said. "I was so angry about that tackle and he was away – at first we feared we had lost him for the whole season, but he worked very well.
"I think the medical department did really well and in togetherness he is already returning to the squad and so is available for the final stages of the season. We are very pleased with that.
"From the first [point] it was a really bad tackle and it was also a really bad injury, but he is a little bit ahead of the schedule so we are very happy with [that]."
Eriksen has made a significant contribution to Manchester United's resurgence under Erik Ten Hag this season, making 31 appearances across all competitions and adding two goals and nine assists.
The 30-year-old moved to Old Trafford on a free transfer in the summer, signing a three-year contract.
