Andy Delort Slams Neymar For Being Disrespectful
Montpellier striker Andy Delort has accused Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar of disrespecting opponents after the Ligue 1 champions’ 3-1 win at the Stade de la Mosson on Saturday.
Neymar’s spectacular second half performance inspired the Parisians to launch a comeback against La Paillade after going a goal down in the first half.
The former Santos and Barcelona forward scored in the 74th minute before assisting Kylian Mbappe for the second goal two minutes later.
Argentina striker Mauro Icardi scored the third goal for the visitors to make sure the maximum points were secured.
After the game, Neymar, the world’s most expensive player, was involved in an altercation with the Algeria international Delort.
Delort told the media he was not impressed with the attitude of the Brazilian despite admitting Neymar being a great player.
“Neymar? He’s a great player,” the 28-year-old said told reporters after the match.
“But it’s a real shame that towards the end he felt the need to antagonize everyone.”
“It’s a shame, he’s a great player, and everyone respects him. But you don’t have to tease your opponents, you won 3-1, that’s good, that’s what I said to him.”
“It’s unfortunate, but it’s the little stuff that makes you feel bad in the dressing room.”
“When we spoke he said to me that he does have respect for us, but it was already done. That’s not respect for me.”
“You have to show respect, a good education. His attitude is well known since he came to France.”
Thomas Tuchel’s men are still on top of the French League table, eight points clear of second placed Marseille.
