Zidane Says Yes To Chelsea But On Condition
By Joshua Walters
Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has said 'yes' to Chelsea's desire that he becomes their manager, but on condition that the club meet his demands.
TheSun reports that the former French player is keen on replacing Maurizio Sarri, and has given his word to the Stamford Bridge club to that effect.
Zidane has been in the news for a couple of weeks now as he has been linked to the Chelsea managerial role following Sarri's inconsistent results at the club.
The former player of Juventus and Real Madrid demands that the club assured him they will be keeping their star man and Belgium national team captain, Eden Hazard.
He is also requesting to have a say in the club’s player recruitment process.
Zidane, according to TheSun, is also asking Chelsea to assure him of enough funds for the transfer market, with reports suggesting he is asking for about £200m from that club in that regard.
Chelsea’s current manager Maurizio Sarri’s future at the club is in a state of dilemma as the former Napoli trainer's team has been inconsistent in the Premier League.
The development has led the club to ponder over replacing him as they look forward to battle it out with their arch-rivals next season.
The arrival of Sarri has seen struggling moments as his new philosophy is yet to be grasp by the players with many pundits criticising his style of play.
According to TheSun, Zinedine Zidane is only waiting on Chelsea to assure him of the fulfillment of his demands, which, according to him, are the only hindrances that may cause him to turn down the offer.
Zidane has been without a club after resigning from Real Madrid in 2018, having led Los Blancos to a third successive Champions League trophy a few months earlier.
