Sterling Tips City To Beat Liverpool
By Joshua Walters
Raheem Sterling has tipped Manchester City to beat Premier League leaders Liverpool in Thursday's top of the table clash.
The former Liverpool wing forward sees the tie as a good opportunity for Manchester City to reduce the gap between them and the Reds, having allowed the Anfield outfit to overthrow them from the top of the table.
Manchester City dropped from the summit of the table after two back-to-back defeats to Crystal Palace and Leicester City, and are looking to bounce back at this early stage of the second half of the season.
Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool top the Premier League table with 54 points after 20 games with Pep Guardiola's Manchester City trailing them in second place with 47 points and the England international is confident they can win the match day-21 fixture to reduce the deficit.
"It's going to be a great game and we're all looking forward to it."
"It's a massive step and just what we needed."
"We had two poor games and we knew we needed to win to give ourselves a chance and we did just that."
"Our previous two results were difficult to take and I thought we bounced back brilliantly."
"I think we owed it to ourselves and as a team to bring that level we know we can bring."
