Jorginho Tips Hazard To Become World

Jorginho has tipped Chelsea teammate Eden Hazard to become the best player in the world after the Belgian international showed his versatility by flourishing in a false nine position for the Blues over the festive period.

Hazard surpassed the 100-goal mark for Chelsea over the Christmas period as his two-goal salvo at Watford made him only the 10th player in the Blues' history to reach triple figures in terms of goals.

One criticism of Eden Hazard’s game has always been his modest return of goals in seasons gone by as opposed to other superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe who appear more lethal in front of goal.

Hazard already has 10 Premier League goals this season, and Jorginho who joined Chelsea from Napoli in the summer insists a switch in position for the Belgian could propel him to challenge for the game’s top individual prizes.

"With the potential he has, if he wants, he can be the best in the world," Jorginho told Sky Sports.

"In the new role he's playing, he can score more goals in the position he has and he has the potential to do so."

The 2015 Professional Footballers Association (PFA) Players’ Player Of The Year’s contract expires in the summer of 2020, and he has not hidden his desire to join Real Madrid, as he believes a move to the European Champions will enhance his chances of winning the Ballon d'Or.

Jorginho almost joined Manchester City before making the switch to Chelsea, but the chance to play under Maurizio Sarri who was his manager at Napoli proved to be too good to turn down.

"I think it is easier for me because I know how he works and I know what he wants from me on the pitch. It has made me come here easier," he added.

"I think he has already changed a lot. You can see that on the pitch, we've improved, but there is still room for improvement. We need to keep going, keep improving, but keep our feet on the ground and who knows, hopefully, we'll be able to win something."
