Shaw Signs Manchester United Contract Extension
By Max Wise
Manchester United and England left-back Luke Shaw has signed a new five-year deal at Manchester United to remain at the Old Trafford outfit at least until 2023.
The new deal represents an upturn in fortunes for the 23-year-old who looked set to leave the club late last season after criticism of his performances by manager, Jose Mourinho.
The utility left-footed player has had a change of fate, and has been brilliant for the Red Devils this season and even scored in the side’s 2-1 win over Leicester City on the Premier League’s opening day.
Shaw has nailed down a place in Mourinho’s starting eleven after an impressive run of performances which have also led to his recall into Gareth Southgate's England national team.
Shaw joined United from Southampton in the summer of 2014 for £27 million, but had his development hampered by injuries and fitness issues.
