Ronaldo: I Don

Ronaldo: I Don

Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that his unflinching desire to win football games is part of the reasons why he no longer makes dribbling a priority.

Ronaldo was easily regarded as one of the best dribblers in world football particularly during his time at Manchester United, possessing a wide range of skills capable of outwitting the best of defenders.

Over the years, Ronaldo has adapted his game to become more of a penalty area goal poacher, with his goal against Torino last week counting as the 100th headed goal of his career.

In an interview with El Pais, Ronaldo revealed that wanting to win every times he steps onto the pitch has made him shelve some facets of his game.

"I see football as a mission: go to the field, win, make me better," Ronaldo said in the interview with El Pais, per the Independent.

"Those moments when I went to the field thinking, 'I'm going to dribble," if I'm honest, I don't have those moments anymore.

"There is an additional pressure. People are always judging: 'It's over already. He's 33, 34 or 35 years old, I should leave him.' And you want to surprise people."

Ronaldo’s 21 Italian Serie A goals from 28 appearances has helped Juventus win an eight consecutive league title but he was powerless in preventing Ajax Amsterdam from eliminating the Bianconeri in the quarter-final stage of the UEFA Champions League, which was the club’s top most priority.

With the side failing to glitter in Europe this season, the Turin club will hope to strengthen their squad to ensure they conquer Europe next season.

Ronaldo joined Juventus in a staggering £100 million fee having signed a four-year contract last summer.
