Pochettino Fears For Spurs As He Awaits News On Kane Injury

Tottenham Hotspurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is afraid he may lose star forward Harry Kane to an injury layoff following the striker's ankle injury in Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Manchester United at Wembley.
Kane apparently suffered the injury in the final seconds of Sunday’s loss after a challenge from Phil Jones.
Pochettino indicated that Kane will have to undergo scans in the coming days to discover the extent of the injury.
Tottenham have already lost South Korean forward Son Heung Min, who will be representing his country at the ongoing Asian Cup, whiles Lucas Moura is injured, and Fernando Llorente is looking for a way out of the club in the January transfer window following his lack of first team opportunities.
“He suffered a big tackle and twisted his ankle,” said Pochettino. “We need to assess him. It wasn't the intention of the United player, but it was a bad tackle and now he (Kane) has bit of a swelling on his ankle and he was limping after the game.
“We are going to lose Son for the Asia Cup and if Harry Kane suffers an injury, it is going to be massive for us.”
Kane is a two-time winner of the Premier League golden boot, and his 14 goals so far in the league puts him level with Arsenal’s Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah at the top of the goal scoring chart.
Tottenham’s loss has left them in third place on 48 points, nine points adrift leaders Liverpool, whiles Chelsea are only a point behind them with 47 points.
