Jordi Alba Uncertain Of Barca Future

Jordi Alba is still not sure of his future at Barcelona as he claims oblivious of whether the Catalan club will give him a new contract.

The Spanish left full-back will see his current contract expire in 2020 but does not know if the Spanish giants will renew his stay.

Jordi Alba played an integral role in his side’s 3-0 win over Eibar at the Camp Nou on Sunday’s match day 19 fixture, and the former Valencia player revealed he is unsure of his future at the club since there has not been any signs from the club giving him a contract renewal.

“Everything is still the same for me, I have a year left on my contract and I don't know what the club thinks. I'm calm.”

“They have to see if they want to renew me and when they do want to renew me if that is the case.”

“I want to stay here as this is the club that I love and have always supported, but it depends on them.”

“For me, I can only control my own performance, which I think has been good, but I don't expect anything from anyone.”

Alba joined Barcelona in 2012 and has played all nineteen LaLiga games for the side this season with just one goal and four assists, but has made five appearances in the Champions League with one goal.

Barcelona top the LaLiga table with 43 points, five points ahead second-place Atletico Madrid who have 38 points, but ten points above arch-rivals, Real Madrid, who are fourth with 33 points.
