Phillip Cocu Replaces Lampard At Derby County

Derby County has appointed Phillip Cocu as their new manager to replace Frank Lampard who has joined his former club Chelsea on a three-year contract.
According to the Pride Park stadium outfit, they wanted a manager who will continue with the works of Lampard as he will also gives way to young players.
The Rams confirmed the appointment of the Dutch trainer on Friday with the club’s chairman Mel Morris stressing;
“We want to build on the momentum that we have in our style of play, our club values, and the increasingly important role of our academy," said Derby executive chairman Mel Morris.
"Phillip and his team understand the need and benefits of this approach."
Cocu, who previously managed PSV Eindhoven and Fernebache will now take charge of the Rams’ dugout in the coming season.
Spending five years at PSV Eindhoven, Cocu won three Eredivisie titles, but failed in his short spell with Turkish club Fenerbahce.
Commenting on his new appointment, the former Barcelona and PSV Eindhoven midfielder posted on his social media handle saying;
“Being fully charged and more passionate than ever, it is time to start a new chapter in my career.
“I am pleased and honoured to confirm that Derby County will be my new club and can’t wait to meet with the team and the fans to start this adventure together.
“Derby County Football Club is a wonderful and heartfelt club and I believe we are aligned in our thinking and philosophy of the game.
“I am looking forward to achieving our goals together.”
Phillip Cocu signed a four-year contract with the last season's championship play-off losing finalists.
