Neymar Suffers Dangerous Foot Injury

Neymar faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines following the aggravation of an old injury in Paris Saint-Germain’s Coupe de France clash with Strasbourg on Wednesday.
The Parisians won the round of sixteen game by 2-0 at the Parc des Princes courtesy goals from Edinson Cavani and Angel Di Maria’s strike.
The talking point after the game, however, centered on Neymar’s 62nd-minute injury when the Brazilian was stretched off the pitch following a foot injury amid a harmless contact from an opponent player.
PSG confirmed on Thursday the club’s most expensive player has suffered a reoccurrence of an old injury, but failed to confirm the length of time the player will spend in recuperation.
A club statement said: "Initial examinations have revealed a painful recurrence of his injury to the fifth metatarsal of his right foot."
"The treatment of this injury will depend on how it evolves over the next few days. All options can be envisaged at this time."
The injury is likely to keep the PSG ace out from both legs of the Champions League knockout round game with Manchester United, starting on February 12, 2019.
Neymar has scored thirteen goals in thirteen Ligue 1 games, five in six Champions League appearances and one in one Coupe de France fixture.
