Chelsea have completed the signing of Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain on a six-month loan deal from AC Milan.

The former Real Madrid player joined the London club after spending a loan deal with AC Milan from Italian giants Juventus.

Higuain’s arrival at Chelsea reunites him with manager Maurizio Sarri who he played under at Napoli.

Higuain could have made his debut against Tottenham Hotspurs if he had signed on midday of Wednesday but will miss the semi-final Carabao Cup second leg game due to the delay in his signing.

The deal will see striker Alvaro Morata leave the club and there are speculations the former Real Madrid player will join Atletico Madrid on loan.

Higuain scored six goals for AC Milan in fifteen Serie A games, two in five Europa League matches, and a zero-goal record in the Coppa Italia.

The Argentine was all grateful and hopeful after signing the deal as he expressed his delight at joining the club and his ambitions for it.

“When the opportunity to join Chelsea presented itself I had to take it," he said as reported on the club’s official website.

“It's a team I've always liked and one that has a lot of history, a wonderful stadium and they play in the Premier League, a league I've always wanted to play in.”

“I now hope I can give back that trust Chelsea have shown me out on the pitch. I can't wait to start and I hope to adapt as soon as possible.”
