Alvaro Morata has completed his move from Chelsea to Atletico Madrid on an 18-month loan deal.
Morata completed his medical with the Madrid based club on Sunday as he makes a return to the side where it all began for him as a youngster.
Morata joined Chelsea from Real Madrid in the summer of 2017 for £60m and scored 24 goals in 72 appearances in all competitions.
Morata won the FA Cup with Chelsea last season but has fallen down the pecking order after Gonzalo Higuain joined from Juventus last week.
"I'm very happy and proud to be here. I can't wait to start training, meet my new team-mates and play," Morata told the Spanish side's website.
"Morata has proven himself as a prolific goalscorer in some of Europe's most competitive leagues," Atletico said on their website.
Some sections of the Atletico Madrid fanbase have voiced their disapproval of Morata’s arrival, given he has played for their City rivals Real Madrid in the past, but Morata is unperturbed.
"It's normal for people to have their thoughts [about playing for Atletico after Real Madrid], I know what I can do," Morata said ahead of his medical on Sunday.
"I started playing at Atletico. People who know where I come from, they know my history and what this means to me. The past is the past, I am proud of that."
