Modric Not Looking For Madrid Exit

Real Madrid’s Croatian midfielder Luka Modric says he has no intentions of leaving the European Champions just yet after his second league goal of the season helped the Los Blancos to a morale-boosting 2-0 win over Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.
The 2018 Ballon D’or winner was linked with a move to Italian giants Inter Milan in the off-season but that move failed to materialize and Modric has gone on to make 27 appearances in all competitions for Madrid.
The 33-year-old former Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder is contracted to Real Madrid until the end of next season but he has reiterated his desire to remain with the 13-time European Champions.
"I have a year and a half left on my contract and I am calm, as that's a long time," Modric told reporters.
"My desire is to stay here for more time. I am as happy as I was on the first day."
Real Madrid’s latest victory over Sevilla has taken them above the Andalusian side into third place after a run of two league games without a victory, although there is still a massive seven-point gap between them and leaders Barcelona who play at home to Leganes on Sunday.
"I am very happy and think we played a great game," he said. "We are happy with our play and happy with the three points.
"We need to follow this path. Every player had a great game and our fans want to see us like this.
"We needed a match like this one to give some joy to ourselves and to the supporters. Personally, I feel good and have felt good for the past month and a half."
