Mbappe Not Disturbed Ahead Of Champions League Clash With Man United

Kylian Mbappe has ruled out the possibility of Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-1 defeat to Lyon having a negative impact on the side’s Champions League knockout game against Manchester United.

The Parisians endured their first defeat in the 2018/19 Ligue 1 campaign away to Lyon on Sunday, in a match that comes a week to their Champions League knockout round match against the Red Devils.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has led the rejuvenated Manchester United to nine wins out of ten games, watched in the stands as Thomas Tuchel’s side fell, and reporters queried Mbappe if the defeat could affect their chances in the European game.

"We have not realised our many opportunities. I'm not worried about the Champions League match. We must take it match after match and wait for the Champions League.”

"It feels good to play matches like that. Facing teams that play is the best way to prepare for the upcoming deadlines. It's up to us to win.”

Angel Di Maria put PSG in front in the 7th minute, but PSG soon lost control to the hosts, who grabbed the equaliser in the 33rd minute through Moussa Dembele to cap a dominant spell.

Mbappe was not certain in his response when asked if the defeat to Lyon was deserving though admitting that the side did not play well in the first half.

"I don't know if the defeat was deserved. In the first half it was deserved, but after half-time, we still dominated."
