Manchester United To Offer De Gea
By Joshua Walters
In pursuit of keeping David de Gea at Old Trafford, Manchester United are prepared to offer him £350,000 a week as reported by The Sun.
The Spaniard’s future at United for sometime has remained uncertain as he was linked with a move away from the club, a situation that generated interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
But The Sun understands the former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper will this time around accept the offer presented to him by the club.
According to the English tabloid, the Red Devils will offer him a new five-year contract with a huge week salary of £350,000 as that will end the advances made by several top European clubs.
De Gea who currently earns £200,000 a week will now receive £350,000 a week.
Despite a rise in salary, Alexis Sanchez will still be the highest paid player at the club with £505,000 a week since arriving from Arsenal in January 2018.
Having refused to extend his stay at the club De Gea’s current contract is expected to expire at the end of the 2019/20 season.
But the goalkeeper and the club are said to have resumed a conversation over his future as it is reported that he has agreed to prolong his services for the side.
David de Gea in thirty-eight Premier League appearances kept seven clean sheets in the 2018/19 season.
Failing to make a good business in the transfer market by Manchester United could delay the shot-stopper committing his future to the club.
Proven to be one of the best goalkeepers in the sport, the 28-year-old has won just one Premier League title, an honour he won in the final season of retired manager Alex Ferguson.
