Kane Announces Decision To Stay At Tottenham Hotspurs

It has been a long-running saga all summer regarding Kane’s future in North London.

The England captain informed the Tottenham Hotspur hierarchy about his desire to seek a fresh challenge elsewhere to bolster his chances of winning silverware in the summer.

A move to champions Manchester City was mooted but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy turned down lucrative bids from Pep Guardiola’s side for the club’s talisman.

Kane reportedly tried to force his way out of the club by refusing to turn up early for pre-season training; but he denied going upon his return from holidays.

The 28-year-old, who is contracted to Spurs for three more seasons, missed their opening Premier League game against Manchester City but was a second half substitute in Sunday’s victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Kane has now announced that a move away from Spurs has failed to materialize and will stay to give his all for the remainder of the campaign.

In a post on Twitter, Kane said: "It was incredible to see the reception from the Spurs fans on Sunday and to read some of the messages of support I've had in the last few weeks.

"I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success."

Kane won the Premier League’s golden boot with 23 goals last season.
