Manchester City Batter Chelsea To Take Top Spot

The Premier League top spot has changed hands once again after Manchester City battered Chelsea to a 6-0 at the Etihad stadium on Sunday.
Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick to take his three-goal tally to 11 to go at par with former Newcastle, Blackburn Rovers and England's striker, Alan Shearer.
The win takes City, who have played a game more, to the summit of the table with 65 points and above Liverpool, who have an equal number of points.
Chelsea, meanwhile, have surrendered fourth position to Manchester United and drop to sixth on the table.
Manchester City have taken the lead in the opening minute of their previous two premier league games, and the Citizens were once again ahead in a trice. Kevin de Bruyne caught the Chelsea backline with a quick ball down the right for Bernardo Silva, whose cross found Raheem Sterling to strike past Kepa after four minutes.
Aguero shocked the Etihad stadium when he missed from a yard at the far post in the 8th minute after a square ball by Silva, but the Argentine soon after atoned for that miss.
City’s all-time leading goalscorer, after his previous miss from a yard out, went from stunned to stunning, when he smacked a shot from 25 yards out beyond the reach of Kepa in the Chelsea goal into the net after only thirteen minutes.
Chelsea were in total disarray at the back, and it manifested in the 19th minute when Ross Barkley inexplicably headed the ball back into his own penalty area for the lurking Aguero who scuffed his shot past Kepa for City’s third of the day.
The champions made it four through Gundogan after only 24 minutes when he pounced on Rudiger’s half-clearance to shoot low past the Chelsea goalkeeper.
Higuain then tested Ederson in the City goal from range with a dipping 20 yard strike in the 40th minute but the goalkeeper was equal to the task.
Aguero headed De Bruyne’s cross onto the crossbar shortly after the break, but the Argentine completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot in the 56th minute after Azpilicueta chopped down Sterling in the penalty box.
Sterling swept in City’s sixth of the day after another slick move involving substitute David Silva and Zinchenko down the left ten minutes to full time.
