Breaking: Inter Milan Appoint Antonio Conte As Head Coach

Inter Milan have named Antonio Conte as their head coach after sacking Luciano Spalletti on Thursday.

The San Siro based club in a short statement on Thursday announced they have parted ways with Spalletti after two years.

"FC Internazionale Milano can confirm that Luciano Spalletti is no longer head coach of the first team.

"The club wishes to thank Spalletti for his work and the results achieved together."

Conte, who have been out of the game after being sacked by Chelsea last year will now lead the Nerazzurri next season.

The former Italy national team coach after signing the dotted lines expressed his gratitude to the club's hierarchy for having trust in him.

“A new chapter in my life is beginning, I’m really excited,” said Conte on Inter’s official website.

“Through my work, I’ll try to repay all of the trust that the president and directors have placed in me.

“I have chosen Inter because of the club it is, because of the project’s sound basis and how ambitious it is. Because of Inter’s history.

“I was struck by the club’s transparency and the desire to bring Inter back to where it belongs.”

Conte returns to the Serie A after leading Juventus to three league titles in three seasons between 2011 and 2014.

Inter president, Steven Zhang, believes the arrival of Conte will inspire the side to challenge for both domestic and international glories.

“I’m sure that Antonio Conte is one of the best coaches out there,” Zhang said.

“I’m certain that he’ll help us achieve our objective and fulfil our mission, one which has always remained the same: to make this club one of the best in the world again.”

During a two-year spell at Chelsea, Conte won the Premier League title in his first season before winning the FA Cup in May 2018 as that was his last game for the Blues.
