Wan-Bissaka A Perfect Fit For Man United, Says Ex-Coach
Right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is an ideal fit for Manchester United, according to his former youth team coach Colin Omogbehin.
The young English footballer was signed from Crystal Palace before the beginning of the 2019-2020 season, in a move that cost Manchester United around £50 million.
Since his move to Old Trafford, the 22-year-old has been an undisputable starter under coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, playing 26 league matches before the season was halted due to Covid-19.
Omogbehin, a man who saw Wan-Bissaka’s growth from London grassroots club Junior Elite and later the Crystal palace youth team, claims it is no surprise that the Englishman is now rocking shoulders with the elite footballers and believes the defender is a perfect for the Red Devils.
“He's got a wonderful never give up, never-say-die mentality,” he told Manchester United Evening News.
"He's very hungry, has worked for every opportunity he's been given - it's never been handed to him.”
“Even at Crystal Palace there was a period when they weren't sure about him and he had to come through that period, around the age of 13, 14.”
"He's got that ability to fight whenever needed. I've seen this type of character before and they usually have long careers in the game.”
“Because they're focused and driven every day - not just some days - that's why they end up playing every week, because the manager can trust them."
He added: "I think he's tailor-made for Manchester United in terms of their expectations for a player: someone with good character, good resilience, good mentality, low maintenance - he ticks all those boxes.
