Spurs Players Pay Tribute To Departing Pochettino
Tottenham Hotspurs’ players have been paying tribute to Mauricio Pochettino after the Argentine was sacked by the club on Tuesday after five-and-a-half-years.
Pochettino paid the price for Tottenham’s poor start to the season that has seen them win just three Premier League games to sit 14th on the table.
The Argentine has since been swiftly replaced by former Manchester United and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.
Pochettino transformed Tottenham into regular top four candidates after taking over in May 2014 and took the club to their first ever Champions League final in June where they lost to Liverpool.
Most of the club’s players made their breakthrough under the Argentine and have become full time internationals under his tutelage.
With the players still getting to grips with the news of Pochettino’s departure, some of them have been paying tribute to their old boss.
Dele Alli, whom Pochettino acquired from League one side MK Dons in 2015 wrote on Twitter: "I can’t thank this man enough.
"He’s taught me so much and I’m so grateful for everything he’s done for me.
"Good luck and hope to see you again my friend."
After a series of loan spells away Harry Kane finally laid down a regular spot in North London in 2014 and has enjoyed a meteoric rise since.
"Gaffer. I'll be forever thankful to you for helping me achieve my dreams," the England captain wrote on his official Twitter account.
"We've had some amazing moments in the last five and a half years that I will never forget.
"You were my manager but my friend as well and I thank you for that relationship. Good luck with your next chapter!"
