Seven players have been shortlisted for the Premier League's player of the month for September.

All seven players come from seven different Premier League clubs.

Manchester City, West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspurs, Newcastle United, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers have players on the list.

The nominated ones include Julian Alvarez, Son Heung-Min, Kieran Trippier, Ollie Watkins, Mohamed Salah, Pedro Neto and Jarrod Bowen.

Argentina World Cup winner Alvarez had four goal contributions in September, finding the back of the net twice and assisting two more in his four games played.

Bowen scored three times in four games for the impressive Hammers while Neto registered three assists and scored once for Wolves in the course of the month.

Salah's playmaking abilities came to the fore with two assists and he chipped in with two goals as well.

In addition to his four assists in September, Trippier helped Newcastle United keep three clean sheets.

Watkins' four goals in September included one hat-trick and an assist for Aston Villa.

Son was the division's top scorer for the month with six goals registered.

Elsewhere, Unai Emery, Ange Postecoglou, Eddie Howe, Mikel Arteta and Jurgen Klopp will battle it out for manager of the month.

Tottenham Hotspurs playmaker James Maddison won player of the month in August, with Postecoglou taking home the managers' prize.
