Peter Crouch Wants Gareth Bale Back At Spurs
Former England forward Peter crouch has admitted that he would like to see Gareth Bale return to the Premier League, preferably back at Tottenham Hotspur.
The pair played together for two seasons at the White Hart Lane, before Crouch went on to sign for Stoke City in 2011.
Bale on the other hand, joined Real Madrid from the North Londoners in a then world record fee in 2013, and quickly formed a ruthless attacking trio with Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.
The Welshman has been heavily criticized in Spain despite winning many trophies, including four Champions League titles and one La Liga title with Los Blancos.
The 30-year-old nearly joined Jiangsu Suning in the summer, but a move could not materialize, and he has since played just seven league games for Real Madrid, scoring two and assisting two in the process.
Bale was seen celebrating with a flag that read; ‘Wales, Golf, Madrid, in that order’, right after Wales’ EURO 2020 qualifier win against Hungary, and he has been slammed by Real Madrid fans.
Crouch believes the Wales superstar could get back to his brilliant best with a second stint with the Lilywhites.
“Gareth Bale's popularity in Spain has taken another hit after he danced in front of a flag that read: 'Wales, Golf, Madrid, in that order,' following their qualification for next summer's European Championship,” the 38-year-old told Daily Mail.
“I don't believe he did it intentionally but the repercussions are obvious.”
“It is clear to everyone how unhappy he is at Real Madrid and it would not surprise me in the slightest if Tottenham tried to manufacture a deal to bring Bale home in January.”
“Coming back to the Premier League would be massive. He was happy at Tottenham. He could be happy there again.
