Perisic returns to his boyhood club for the next six months on a temporary deal before signing a one-year contract in the summer.

The 34-year-old is expected to miss the rest of the season anyway, having suffered an anterior cruciate ligament damage just six games into the 2023/2024 campaign.

Perisic joined Spurs on a free transfer from Inter Milan in the summer of 2022, going on to make 50 appearances in total for the North London side, scoring one goal and registering 14 assists.

"We have reached agreement with HNK Hajduk Split for the loan of Ivan Perisic for the remainder of the season", a Spurs statement read.

"We wish Ivan all the best for the future."

With the European championships coming up this summer, Perisic faces a race against time to be fit for Croatia.

He has won 129 caps for his country and has silver and bronze medals from the last two FIFA World Cups.
