Neuer Still Hungry For More Glory With Bayern Munich
Germany icon Manuel Neuer has insisted he is more determined to lead Bayern Munich to domestic and European glory.
The 34-year-old has recently put talks about his future to bed by extending his stay in Bavaria until the summer of 2023.
Having won it all with Bayern Munich since his big move from Schalke 04 in 2011, Neuer is adamant he is more motivated than ever to lead Die Roten to glory
In an interview with club’s official website, the 2014 World Cup winner believes the Bundesliga champions have a good team to compete for the coming years and he is aiming to make it to the 2022 Champions League final which is scheduled to take place at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
‘We have a good team for the next few years and it is a lot of fun working for FC Bayern, also as a captain,” he said.
“You start every year from the beginning of course wanting to win it all.”
“There is now the championship to win this year and we are still in every competition.”
“But right now it is a different situation for us and everyone has to adjust to the current situation, not only us football players.”
“One of our big goals for the next few years is definitely having the chance to play a home Champions League final, like we did in 2012.”
“2022 will be another European final in Munich, which is a great incentive for me and the whole team.”
“It would be a dream for us all to be able to reach this final at home.”
The last time Bayern played in a home Champions League final they lost on penalties to Chelsea after a 1-1 draw in 2012.
