Kai Havertz Remains Coy About Future
Germany and Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz has refused to be drawn on his future, saying that he ‘does not want to risk’ his time at the BayArena.
Havertz put up another masterclass On Saturday, scoring twice in Leverkusen’s 3-1 victory over rivals Borussia Monchengladbach.
The 20-year-old has taken his season’s tally to 14 goals and eight assists in 36 games in all competitions for Peter Bosz's side.
Havertz has been linked with a move to one of the top guns in European football with the likes of Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Chelsea all said to be yearning to secure his services.
Speaking after Die Werkself’s big win at the Borussia-Park, the German refused to address the transfer speculations surrounding his future and insists he is focused to finish the season on a high.
Havertz said: “I do not like to say, of course, that there is a lot of speculation, I’m concentrating on this season and will see what happens afterwards.”
“I am very grateful to Leverkusen and I don’t want to mess it up in any way, we’re happy about the win. We put it on ourselves to win here and we did that.”
“We had to really give everything today and I think we deserved to win in the end.”
Havertz graduated from the Bayer Leverkusen youth setup before making his senior debut in 2016.
