Klopp Delighted With Salah’s Return To Full Fitness

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is delighted with Mohamed Salah’s return to full fitness after struggling with an ankle injury for more than a month.

Klopp Delighted With Salah’s Return To Full Fitness

Salah was on the receiving end of a strong challenge from Leicester City’s Hamza Choudhury in early October and has been playing through the pain ever since.

The 27-year-old missed national team commitments with Egypt during the international break in a bid to regain full fitness.

Salah was an unused substitute when Liverpool brushed aside Everton 5-2 in midweek but was back in the starting eleven against Bournemouth on Saturday.

The former Chelsea man announced his return with Liverpool’s third goal of the day as the leaders extended their lead at the top of the table to eleven points.

Salah has now scored seven goals and provided four assists in 13 league games this season, leaving his manager delighted as the Reds enter a tough period in December when the games come thick and fast.

"He looks now 100 per cent," Klopp said in his post-match news conference after the 3-0 win over the Cherries.

"It's long ago that he got that knock, but you carry things like this with you when have game after game after game. Mo was absolutely strong."

Another positive for Klopp on Saturday was Liverpool keeping only their third clean sheet in the league this season, and the German manager is craving for more shutouts.

Klopp added: "I forgot how a clean sheet feels, to be honest. It's great, we should have them more often.

"It was the most-used word in the dressing room by the boys, 'clean sheet, clean sheet, clean sheet'. Obviously, everybody was desperate for that. Now we have it, so let's have it more often.

"The next game where a clean sheet would be useful is already around the corner - against Salzburg on Tuesday."
