Chelsea beat Spurs 4-1 at their own backyard in a game that was riddled with red cards and several VAR intervetions.

But it was Jackson who had the last laugh, taking advantage of Tottenham's numerical disadvantage after Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie were sent off by referee Michael Oliver, to score a second half treble.

Jackson has been guilty of profligacy in his short time at Stamford Bridge, but now has five goals in ten Premier League games and six across all competitions.

The 22-year-old Senegal international is keen to kick on, with Manchester City next on the menu for Mauricio Pochettino's side on Sunday.

Speaking after the game Jackson said: “Yeah, very happy. It was a difficult time for everybody in the team, but now we are coming back slowly, slowly and I am very happy to score three goals.

“It has been very difficult (for me) but life is like this. Now my first hat-trick and I am very happy I did it in the biggest club in England and everywhere.

“Always need to improve, always need to work harder. We continue working and now this (hat-trick) is the past, so we forget about it and move forward.

“We were dreaming about this, playing big games and winning big games. Now we continue to work hard and the confidence is coming slowly, slowly.”
