'I'm More Hungry Than Ever'- Haaland Fired Up After Missing Out On World Cup

Haaland watched from afar as his peers battled for global glory in Qatar after his native Norway failed to qualify.

The 22-year-old was back doing what he loves best on the domestic front, scoring two goals as Manchester City picked apart Leeds United 3-1 in the Premier League on Wednesday.

Haaland's brace at Elland Road took his Premier League goal tally to 20 goals from 14 games, making him the quickest to reach that mark with the least number of matches.

Speaking to Amazon Prime Video after the game, Haaland was asked how he spent the World Cup and said: "Being home, being a bit mad that I didn't play the World Cup and was on my sofa. 

"I was kind of a commentator for the World Cup in my own home, where nobody listens to me!

"I recharged my batteries and to watch people score and win games at the World Cup triggered me and motivated me. It irritates me, as I just said. I'm more hungry than ever."

Haaland was born in Leeds while his father Alf-Inge played for the club and his two strikes saw him surpass his dad's total Premier League goals (18 in 181 appearances).

"With my father and my mother over there, it's special. I'm happy today, it's a really special moment in my career," he added.

"When I was younger I had a jersey of [former Leeds and Norway midfielder] Eirik Bakke in my room, and also one of my father, so it's really weird. 

"Only in my craziest fantasy could I have thought of scoring at Elland Road for Manchester City against Leeds."
