Former Chelsea, Newcastle United and France striker Loic Remy has announced his retirement from football at the age of 36.

Remy was clubless after being released by Stade Brest at the end of the 2022/2023 campaign.

He joined Brest as a free agent in February but did not play a single game before being released.

A graduate from the Olympique Lyon youth system, Remy also turned out for the likes of Lille, Nice, Queens Park Rangers, Crystal Palace, Lens, Olympique Marseille, Las Palmas, Getafe, Rizerspor and Adana Demirspor.

Remy won the Premier League and the League Cup with Chelsea in the 2014/2015 season under Jose Mourinho.

Remy won 30 caps for the France national team, scoring seven goals and played for his country at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Remy bows out of the beautiful game with a record of 140 goals in 407 competitive club appearances.
