Ever Banega To Leave Sevilla For Saudi Arabia Side Al-Shabab In Summer
Ever Banega will leave Sevilla at the end of the season and join Saudi Arabian side Al-Shabab on a free transfer.
Banega’s contract at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan expires at the end of the 2019/2020 season and he has agreed a three-year contract with the six-time Saudi Pro League champions.
The 31-year-old is in his second spell at Sevilla having initially joined from Valencia in the summer of 2014, and winning two Europa League trophies.
He left the club to Italy, where he signed for Inter Milan in the 2016/2017 campaign but lasted just one season at the San Siro before making his return for a second spell at the Andalusian club in the summer of 2017.
The Argentina international has made 23 appearances in all competitions for Julen Lopetegui’s men this season, scoring two goals and helping them to third place on the Spanish La Liga table.
Al-Shabab are ninth on the Saudi League table and have not won the league since the 2011/2012 campaign.
Banega will come with a wealth of experience having featured 56 times for the Argentina national team and played at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Banega was part of the Argentina team that won gold at the 2008 Olympic games in Beijing.
