City Gives United The Blues In Dominant Win At Old Trafford

Manchester City piled more misery on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his Manchester United side with a 2-0 win at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday.

City remained the dominant side throughout and served memories of Liverpool’s annihilation of the Red Devils at the same venue a fortnight ago, only this time the scoreline was a respectable one.

Just like against Liverpool, United went behind early when Eric Bailly slashed into his own net from Joao Cancelo’s cross in the fifth minute and the hosts could not recover.

But for David De Gea’s intervention on several occasions, City could have ended the contest early but had to wait until the 45th minute to get the insurance goal through Bernard Silva, thanks to some unconvincing defending from the home side.

Solskjaer’s side have now won just once in their last six Premier League games and could drop further down the table depending on the results of the remaining matchday 11 games.

City manager Pep Guardiola was so impressed with his side’s dominance that he did not make a single substitution as the champions climbed to second positon on the table, two points behind leaders Chelsea, who host Burnley later in the day.

Man United will travel to Watford in their next Premier League game after the international break while City will host Everton.
