The 22-year-old left-back is currently enjoying a splendid spell with the Foxes as his consistent performances have seen him as the best option for the England national team at the left-back department.

However, the former Huddersfield Town defender was nearly signed by his current manager when he was at the helm at Liverpool at age 17.

But unfortunately for the English defender, talks between his agent and the Reds failed and has disclosed he is not worried for not being signed by the last season’s Champions League winners.

"Definitely no regrets," Chilwell told Sky Sports.

"When I look at how the last four or five years have gone, starting eight games now for the England team is something I'm very happy with.

"Leicester was the right place for me to be at the time and the older players have helped me a lot.

"The staff have kept me grounded. Definitely no regrets.

"Any manager going back to their old stadium will want to get a win," said Chilwell, who described the former Celtic boss as being "loved" by Leicester's squad.

"He's very relaxed, training's been the same as it has been the whole season.

"It would be nice to go there and put on a performance for the boss."

Chiwell has been a marauding left-back for the King Power Stadium outfit in the new season as his contributions have seen the 2015/16 Premier League champions at the third position in the table with fourteen points after seven games.

On a trip to Anfield on Saturday, Leicester will hope to extend their winning streak following a 5-0 humiliation to Steve Bruce’s Newcastle last weekend.
