'Bring On Man City'- Klopp Hails Mood-Changing Win Over Rangers

The mood around the Liverpool camp has changed ahead of Sunday's clash with Manchester City after a 7-1 rout of Rangers in the Champions League, according to Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool took a step closer to securing a place in the knockout rounds of Europe's premier club competition on Wednesday at Ibrox after coming from behind to completely obliterate Giovanni Van Bronckhorst's side.

The Reds fell behind to Scott Arfield's 17th minute strike but Roberto Firmino's brace, Mohamed Salah's record-breaking hattrick and a goal apiece from Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott ensured a comfortable night for Liverpool.

It was a rare vintage performance from Liverpool this season as they head into Sunday's encounter against Manchester City at Anfield 14 points off the top, with just two wins from eight Premier League games.

Klopp acknowledged how important this win could be in the grand scheme of things though he did sound a bit cautious ahead of meeting Pep Guardiola's free-scoring side.

"It changed the mood, definitely," Klopp told reporters after the game.

"It is completely different. We usually drink a beer after away games, but it is that long ago that I drank beer and I probably will be drunk after one.

"It changes the mood completely and that's good, but we all know who we are welcoming on Sunday and this will be a different game. It is better to go into a game with the feeling we've got tonight than any other."

He added: "We don’t have to make a big thing of it, but the best football team in the world right now is coming to Anfield on Sunday.

"We will see what we can do, but it's not now that we are with a big mouth and telling them come and we are waiting. Not at all. It was for us tonight, for different reasons, incredibly important. Yes, 7-1 is a freak result, we know that."
