Toni Kroos: Sending Me To Real Madrid Was A Mistake By Bayern Munich

Former Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos has revealed it was a mistake for the Bavarians sending him to Real Madrid.

The German midfielder claims he knew the side were conducting wrong business in the course of the transfer in 2014.

Since leaving the Bundesliga outfit, Kroos has enjoyed a successful spell at Real Madrid as he has won one LaLiga title and three consecutive Champions League trophies in 2016, 2017 and 2018 aside other individual glories.

Elucidating his point, Kroos disclosed to German newspaper Sport Blid the worst decision the club made was selling him to the Spanish giants.

"For me, it was already clear at the time of the transfer that Bayern made a mistake with my sale," he said.

"It's true that [Bayern president] Uli Hoeness has made it public of late - and it's a testament to his greatness that he addresses it that way.

"If that was one of the reasons Pep [Guardiola] left Munich, he has to answer that, but I cannot confirm that he did not like my sale."

Toni Kroos having enjoyed an impressive career at Madrid makes him one of the best players in his position as Kicker awarded him the German footballer of the year accolade in 2018.

His twenty-eight LaLiga appearances in the 2018/19 season recorded four assists with no goal while he scored a goal in eight Champions League games.

Kroos who was linked with a move away from Real Madrid signed a new deal with the Bernabeu club in May which is expected to run out in 2023.

Having been a four-time Champions Leagues winner, Kroos won his first Champions League trophy with Bayern Munich in 2013.
